Faulty posture and repetitive strain are known to be two of the main causes of back pain and muscle tension in the workplace. Sitting in the same position for long periods and using a keyboard or mouse repetitively can lead to aching or painful muscles primarily in the shoulders, neck, back, wrists and hands.

The On Site Massage Company’s posture workshops offer advice on how to combat muscular tension and pain, RSI, headaches and office fatigue. We focus on posture correction through specific stretching and strengthening exercises, which re-educate the body’s postural muscles strain on over worked and tired muscles. These simple but effective exercises are easy to carry out at work and help alleviate aches and pains that often result from poor posture or repetitive loading. The 30 minute classes for up to 6 people are aimed at both injury prevention and management, equipping participants with techniques they can use in the office on a daily basis.

We are also able to offer Pilates for the office, this is a far more comprehensive, progressive programme with the same requirements as our Posture workshops. Pilates workshops bookings are looked at as being an ongoing weekly programme over a number of months.

This is a class consisting of very gentle exercises done on a matt in either a sitting or lying down position. The primary focus is on awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility. The outcome of Pilates training is a balanced body which is strong and supple, flat stomach, balanced legs, and a strong back.
